Student Policies for Advanced International Aviation Academy
Welcome to Advanced International Aviation Academy. We are committed to providing high-quality flight training in a safe and supportive environment. To ensure smooth operations and maintain a professional learning atmosphere, we ask that all students adhere to the following policies and guidelines.
1. Enrollment and Admission Requirements
- Age Requirement: Students must be at least 17 years old to begin flight training.
- Medical Certificate: All students must obtain and maintain a valid FAA medical certificate (Class 3 or higher, depending on the type of training).
- Prerequisites: Some training programs may have additional prerequisites (e.g., Private Pilot Certificate, English proficiency, etc.).
- Student Conduct: All students are expected to behave in a professional and respectful manner toward instructors, staff, and fellow students.
2. Scheduling and Attendance
-
Flight Training Scheduling:
- Students are required to schedule flights in advance through the [Flight School’s Scheduling System] (e.g. Schedule Point)
- Training slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please book flights as early as possible to secure your desired times.
- Instructors and aircraft availability are subject to change. If there are any changes to your scheduled flight, you will be notified immediately.
-
Cancellation Policy:
- Flight cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a no-show fee. Cancellations within 24 hours will incur a cancellation fee.
- If a student is a “no-show” for a scheduled flight, a fee of $100 may apply, and the flight will not be rescheduled without payment.
- For international students account balance should be not less than $2500 to schedule the flight.
-
Punctuality:
- Students are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled flights and ground sessions. If a student is late, they may lose time on the flight or be rescheduled, depending on instructor availability.
3. Training Requirements
-
Flight Hours:
- Students must complete the required minimum number of flight hours for each certificate or rating. However, individual progress may vary depending on the student’s aptitude, availability, and other factors.
-
Ground School:
- In addition to flight hours, students are required to attend ground school classes or complete online study modules, as applicable, to ensure they understand the theoretical aspects of flight.
-
Performance and Progress:
- Students are expected to demonstrate a certain level of proficiency during each stage of their training. Instructors will assess progress and provide regular feedback.
- If a student is not meeting expected standards, additional training may be required. We aim to provide constructive feedback to help students improve, but students must be willing to work diligently to meet the course objectives.
4. Student Responsibilities
- Safety First:
- Safety is our top priority. Students are expected to adhere to all FAA regulations, flight school policies, and instructor guidance to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.
- Students must perform a thorough pre-flight inspection of the aircraft and check all equipment before each flight.
- Attire:
- Students must wear appropriate clothing for flight training. Closed-toed shoes are required. While flying, students should avoid wearing loose clothing or jewelry that could interfere with flight controls.
- Alcohol and Drug Use:
- Zero Tolerance Policy: Students are strictly prohibited from using alcohol, recreational drugs, or prescription drugs that impair their ability to fly.
- The FAA has stringent regulations concerning the consumption of alcohol and drugs before flight. Students must not consume alcohol within 8 hours of flight time (the “bottle to throttle” rule), and should always be fit to fly.
- Personal Conduct:
- Students must respect the school’s facilities, aircraft, and equipment. Any damage caused by negligence or misuse will result in the student being responsible for repairs or replacement costs.
- Professional conduct is expected at all times, whether in class, on the flight line, or in communication with others. Inappropriate behavior, including harassment, disruptive actions, or unsafe conduct, may result in dismissal from the school.
5. Payments, Fees, and Refunds
-
Tuition and Fees:
- Students are required to pay for training sessions, aircraft rental, and other fees in advance or as agreed upon with the flight school.
- The flight school accepts payment via check, credit card, or bank transfer. Payment plans may be available upon request.
-
Refund Policy:
- Prepaid Packages: If a student purchases a prepaid flight package, unused hours will be refunded based on the remaining balance, subject to an administrative fee.
- Course Cancellations: If a student decides to withdraw from training, refunds will be processed according to the school’s refund policy. Students may receive a partial refund if they withdraw within a specified period.
-
Hourly Rates:
- Rates for flight training, aircraft rental, and instructor fees are posted on the school’s website and are subject to change. Any changes in rates will be communicated in advance.
6. Weather and Flight Cancellations
- Weather Conditions:
- Flight training may be postponed or rescheduled due to weather conditions, including poor visibility, high winds, thunderstorms, or other unsafe conditions. The flight school will make reasonable efforts to notify students as early as possible.
- Rescheduling Flights:
- If a flight is canceled due to weather, the student will not be charged for the missed session, and a new flight will be scheduled at the earliest available time.
7. Student Records and Privacy
- Confidentiality:
- All student records, including medical information, progress reports, and financial records, are kept confidential in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Students may request a copy of their records at any time.
- Feedback and Evaluation:
- Students will receive regular performance evaluations from their instructors. Constructive feedback will be given to help students improve their skills and complete their training successfully.
8. Graduation and Certification
- Completion Requirements:
- In order to graduate and receive their certificate or rating, students must successfully pass the FAA written knowledge test, check ride, and meet the required flight hours for their certification.
- Issuance of Certificate:
- After successfully completing their training, students will receive the necessary documents required to apply for FAA certification. The flight school will assist students with the necessary paperwork for FAA certification.
9. Dismissal and Termination of Training
-
Reasons for Dismissal:
- Failure to meet attendance, academic, or performance requirements.
- Violations of safety protocols or school policies, including drug and alcohol use.
- Unprofessional behavior or actions that jeopardize the safety or integrity of the flight school environment.
-
Appeals Process:
- If a student feels they have been unjustly dismissed or penalized, they may file an appeal with the school’s administration. The school will review the case and make a final decision.
10. Student Acknowledgement
By enrolling at [Your Flight School Name], students acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these policies and the terms and conditions of the flight school. Failure to adhere to these policies may result in suspension or dismissal from the flight school.
